Doubts invaded Samiksha’s mind and inspite of her present state, she trusted Karan, somehow.
“You don’t believe me right?” Karan took his phone and scrolled through it. Samiksha tried to comprehend what she heard few minutes ago.
Karan switched on the audio of a conversation.
“Mr. Karan, I have a job for you.”
“Go on.”
“You have to abduct a girl. Trust me, she is born with a platinum spoon. The only child of her parents. Soon we are coming to Forno beach for a vacation. You can execute your plan accordingly.”
“What is the purpose behind this?”
“Money, my dear. A lot of money. 40% of the money is yours.”
“Name it.”
“50 Crore.”
“Sure?”
“Her parents would give up their life too for her. Money is just an asset.”
“Done. Name?”
“Roshan Mittal.”
“The one who we have to abduct?”
“Roshan is my name. Hers is Samiksha.” Karan stopped the audio. Samiksha’s tears flowed on her cheeks and she tried to wipe them in vain.
Karan felt a sharp pain seeing her condition.
He tried hard to control himself. It took all his might to refrain from touching her innocent face. He wanted to hold her in his arms. protect her from everything that could possibly harm her. The life he led now stopped him from doing so. He gave her tissues. Samiksha got up from the chair and caught Karan. She cried her heart out resting her head on his strong shoulders. Her sudden move astonished Karan. He responded by a light hug, comforting enough to pacify her.
After a span of 5 minutes, she separated herself and straightened her tousled hairs. He gestured her to sit. She wished to to go away from there. He stopped her by standing in between her and the door. “Please sit here for some time. You are devastated. I don’t want anyone to see you so vulnerable, so broken.” At once she obeyed and sat down on a bench in his balcony. Karan offered her a glass of water. She drank little of it and stared blankly.

“Why do people love money, more than souls?” Samiksha asked him.
“Because people run after things that are visible and appealing to the eyes.” Samiksha looked at him. He continued,
“They fail to see a soul, which can do nothing but, love. Inspite of seeing one, they make their lives miserable by ignoring the beauty of it. They prefer to chase things, as I said appealing to eyes.”
“You are talking about me, right?”
He did not say a word.
The flash of the outside lights in the balcony where they sat at present, highlighted their expressions clearly. One, who was regretting and the other who stood there, helpess. Some noises in the exterior distracted both. Karan went towards the door and cautiously opened it. His bodyguard immediately pushed him inside and whispered something. Karan immediately asked, “Mom?”
“She is safe. We have send her to the secret room. What to do master?”
“Make sure that all are safe. Who are those men?”
“Dolph, our rival sent them.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes master. Raul recognises them.”
“Make sure all are safe. I will take care of Samiksha. You go out and look after others.”
“Yes master.” He left from the room in haste. Meanwhile Karan took Samiksha through a hidden door to another room.
“What has happened?” asked Samiksha as soon as they entered the room.
“An enemy has barged in. They try to take away our abducted people and charge 5 times more from the opposite parties.”
“I am going out Karan.”
“Stop it Samiksha. I told you what all is happening out.”
“So what? Why are you leading this dangerous life Karan? Don’t you care for your mom?”
“You think I am doing this for joy? I lost my dad in front of my eyes. He did this work with non voilence. And his enemies took advantage of his principles. On an unfortunate day, they victimised him out of jealousy and hatred. At that moment, I decided to take his place. He wanted his legacy to go on. Though I was always against this work. But when he left me and that too in this manner, no words and emotions could stop me.”
“I am sorry to hear about your father. But listen to your heart,” Samiksha repeated her words by action, placing his palm on his chest.
“Will your father be happy up above there seeing you like this? He is no more a part of this selfish world. He will actually be at peace when he sees you happy Karan.”
“She is absolutely right.” Sandra entered the room with a bodyguard, who left quickly to take care of the outside situation.
“Leave this world Karan. And lead a happy, carefree life which you always prayed for.”
“But mom.”
“No Karan. This abduction has come as a blessing for my son. I wish you meet that girl too, the first and last love of your life.”
“I am that unfortunate girl aunty.”
Samiksha stepped ahead fearlessly.
