A rare one in today’s generation. As a teacher I have come in contact with hundreds of kids. Since last four to five years, the kids I have come across are very cold and practical. The mere reason, lack of empathy in them. To feel what the other person feels is difficult, not impossible.
Parents have two options, along with delivering the duties of earning money, be aware of how your child is growing up. Or else focus on the business of earning only money, ignoring the conditions in which your child is growing up. People choose the latter as its convenient. Some even have the guts of declaring that the child will learn from trial and error method. What if the error damages a part of his personality for the lifetime?
Then comes
the next safer escape. ‘It’s meant to be like that’. ‘It’s destined.’
Making a child empathetic is as easy as making a curry in kitchen or signing papers in office. The only thing needed here is a little patience and will. Though finding that will itself is missing in today’s parents. They are scared to make their children empathetic. The fear that the child might not be able to face this tough competitive world, with an empathetic heart is one of the reasons of an empathy free upbringing.
Apparently, moulding a child into an empathetic human is completely a choice of the parents. The question is why are they not doing it?
