The smile students bring on your face is the reward of being a teacher. Recently, I happened to attend the 50 years celebration of my school where I worked as a teacher. Inspite of being unwell, the honour which my students gave by inviting me for the celebration made me attend the function. Few teachers from the entire staff were invited for the function, and I was one of them.
I am glad I attended the function, which my heart will always treasure. Because I met so many of my past students, reliving the memories of the old, glorious times. The time spent with each one of them was memorable and treasurable. Though I don’t remember the names of all my kids who I met, I had a nostalgic moment with each one of them.
The most special part of those moments was, I felt so happy with each of them. They had the same regard, care and love for me which they had so many years ago. The students those days were so humble, non judgemental.
This is what makes them reside in my heart, forever.
I want to talk here about few of them, Nehal, Kanika, Kaivan and Sonali.
Kaivan,
was just recollecting the moments of the school days. I remember how quiet and shy he used to be in the school. And now who was in front of me was a responsible and caring person, whose smile never left his lips till we were together. The moments we spend were much like a mother-son than of a teacher-student. I felt so secured and safe when I was standing next to him.
I will never forget the way he was looking at me, with such care and regard, and I knew, he too would treasure this moment forever.
He has made me so proud of the kind of human being he has become. Thanks to his parents of course. As the values instilled by our parents are visible though our actions.A man becomes a gentleman, when anyone, especially women standing next to him feel safe. Kaivan is a true gentleman in my eyes, who made me feel so special in the few moments that I spent with him. He was concerned about my ill health that time too, as during the school days.
I wish him good health and success always in his life. Praying that he remains how he is now always, may he get what he wishes.
The smile that students bring on your face is a reward, and Kaivan did exactly the same that day.
