At the start of my teaching career, I was the class teacher of Grade 4 in my first year. My class was full of innocence, selfless love, responsible attitude and crystal clear hearts. A student named Shraddha made place in my heart. Responsible, caring, dignified were her few of virtuous qualities. I don’t remember a moment where I had to tell her to behave in a certain manner or do a particular thing.
Some students have a God gift of just obeying their elders, no matter what. She also used to have trust in my guidance and teaching. As a result we developed a strong, pure bond. Calm and composed, she was noticable in the class, just at the blink of an eye. After two years, she had to shift to another branch of our school due to unavoidable circumstances. As a teacher, my heart was in agony because i was going to lose a star.
All teachers
will agree to what I said. We all have in our luck, some special ones who remain in our memory forever. They are etched in our hearts and soul. A teacher is priveleged if she comes across one such student also in her career span. I was blessed to have many such angels. Shraddha is one of those.
I am lucky to be in touch with her till date. Even though we talk now through phone chats, our bond is the same which was years ago. As always, I give the entire credit of her persona to her parents, who have moulded her into such a caring and responsible human being full of gratitude. I know her mother personally. A dignified and graceful lady that she is, no doubt Shraddha carries herself with the same poise.
When she came to meet me before starting her first job, I was overwhelmed and contented. To be remembered by your student is a blessing for a teacher. I was just observing her way of talking then . . . Calm, composed, not changed a bit. Yes, there was a sense of confidence to take over the world with her wings.
I was fortunate to attend her wedding. Its indeed a bliss to see the young, tender hands who were handling pencils, pens and books few years before, are firm and ready today to carry the responsibilities of a new family on her shoulders.
A professional now, Shraddha is the same as I knew her when she was a tiny tot – responsible, caring and dignified. She herself is a doted mother now, and I am sure she will pass on the same charming persona to him as well. May God bless her always and grant everything that her heart asks for.
