The smile students bring on your face is the reward of being a teacher. Recently, I happened to attend the 50 years celebration of my school where I was a teacher.. Inspite of being unwell, the honour which my students gave by inviting me for the celebration made me attend the function. Only few teachers from the entire staff were invited for the function, and I was one of them.
I am glad I attended the function, which my heart will always treasure.Because I met so many of my past students, reliving the memories of the old, glorious times. The time spent with each one of them was memorable and treasurable. Though I don’t remember the names of all my kids who I met, I had a nostalgic moment with each one of them.
The most special part of those moments was, I felt so happy with each of them. They had the same regard, care and love for me which they had so many years ago. The students those days were so humble, non judgemental.
This is what makes them reside in my heart, forever.
I want to talk here about few of them, Nehal, Kanika, Kaivan and Sonali. The joy they had on their face when they met me is unforgettable.
Sonali,
ever smiling face and ever ready to help. These are the attributes that I remember when I hear your name. An active participant of the school March Past Group, I still remember how you never took my scoldings to your heart. Whenever Sports day was near, I used to be on my toes, for the successful accomplishment of our goals and I expected the same from every student. In this process, the students had to live up to my expectations from them, to be dedicated and punctual.
Inspite of the firm attitude I always had, you found me approachable. The love you had in your eyes when we met at the function was heart touching . My heart will always treasure the golden era of the students of your generation. The best part of which was, you all had faith in me as a teacher, and allowed me to mould you as I wished.
Thanks to your parents too, for having the same trust. The care and respect you still have for me is due to their upbringing. The immense faith you have in your Lord Ganesha, is something I love and respect Sonali.
I pray to God that he grants you success in all that you do. May he give you what your heart asks for. May he bless you with good health and success always. Smiling 24 hours, is something you yourself love, it will be there on your face . . . till eternity.
