How do you react when you come to know, that a obedient, humble, caring, responsible student respects you? But of course a teacher would be so glad and proud.
When I discovered my student Suraj Karkera, wanted to meet me once, I was glad too. This reaction is because Suraj was an introvert in school. I hardly remember any incident when we talked. And hence when he wanted to meet me, I was taken aback. When he came to school last time, our PT coach informed me that Suraj wants to meet you. I was happy as he had come to school after very long. We had a brief talk, but the regard he had in his eyes touched my heart. He was the same, smiling all odds out and even after conquering the world, he appeared . . . grounded.
Back in school,
he was extremely good in sports and brought laurels to school by winning many awards and medals. He used to play hockey and played it with excellence. His coach Mr. Marzban Patel, fondly called as Bawa Sir, was his trainer. Till date, he has great regard for Bawa Sir and it hasn’t changed an inch. I truly admire and respect this.
Later he excelled in the field of hockey and today, he is the Goal Keeper of The Indian Men’s Hockey Team. He is also in The Indian Army. What should I say about him? He has surpassed the love that a citizen should have for his country. The dedication and honesty he owns is something to look up to.
The young generation of today should learn how to excel in a field you chose, and still keep yourself grounded from Suraj. The radiant smile on his face shows, he is still the same what he was years ago.
I pray to God to keep you as you are now – humble, caring and responsible always. May he bless you with happiness, health and success, grant all that your heart asks for and keep that radiant smile on your face, till eternity.
